Project Brief

The goal is a smart fish habitat designed for underwater environments in the nature. The structure is made from natural sustainable resources and provides a safe shelter for fish, similar to rocks and cavities they use in their natural environments.

Inside the habitat, we place sensors that measure environmental conditions, such as water temperature, pH and activity around the entrance. This allows us to collect data on whether fish actually use the shelter and if the conditions support marine life.

The goal is to explore how artificial habitats combined with sensors can help us better understand and support marine ecosystems, while creating low-cost structures that could potentially be deployed in coastal areas and help endangered species survive and proliferate.

The project requirements are:

  1. … (specify here your project requirements);
  2. Comply with the following EU Directives:
    1. Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive (EMCD);
    2. Low Voltage Directive (LVD);
    3. Machinery Directive (MD);
    4. Radio Equipment Directive (RED);
    5. Restriction of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive (ROHS);
  3. Mandatory adoption and use of the International System of Units (The NIST International Guide for the use of the International System of Units)
  4. Use open source software and technologies.
